Domelands Overnighter

Last month some friends and I went on a mini-backpacking adventure out in the desert at a place called Domelands. You can read about a previous hike there here. I lagged a little writing about it, but I think you’ll enjoy the photos nonetheless. Also, I got a little crazy with a new photo collage app…

We saw beautiful desert flowers

We saw unbelievable fossils of sea life millions of years old when this desert was an ocean. Crazy.

We found a fantastic slot canyon

We found a campsite with a view of the Carrizo Badlands

We saw some beautiful views

We watched an amazing sunrise

We saw pretty plants and pretty skies

I am so lucky to live in a place with amazing beauty all around. I hope you all take the time to get outside and see the beauty where you are too.

  1. Dying to get out into nature again. We should take a month off and hike the Long Trail.

Iris just brought me over to check these out. Beautiful photos. Looks like a great place to hike. Some day you might want to check out the Palm Canyon on the Indian reservation near Palm Desert. I think it is 15 miles long. David

Just saw the picture of your fantastic slot canyon. I haven’t been to the area in almost ten years and can’t remember whether the slot canyons are easy to find from the domelands. Your picture looks amazing, planning on heading out this weekend if you have any directions.

Oh gosh, I can’t really remember where that clot canyon was. I was following someone else who had the location on his gps, It was definitely off the trail, downhill from the Jabba the Hut looking area. Good luck, and don’t get lost!
